The market for offshore wind power is growing, and offshore wind will be an important contribution to a renewable and climate-neutral future.
Statkraft's strategy is to be a developer and operator of offshore wind power plants in Northern Europe, especially in markets where the company is already established.
We are developing both bottom-fixed and floating offshore wind on a competitive scale and continue the search for new opportunities together with our partners. We are exploring opportunities in the North Sea basin, focusing on Ireland, Norway, Sweden and the UK and will consider investments in offshore wind in other markets in the future.
Statkraft has ambitious plans to build 3 GW of renewable energy projects in Ireland by 2030 and offshore wind will play an important role to reach this ambition.

NISA was awarded a contract in the Irish government’s first offshore wind auction in 2023 to develop 500 MW of green energy.
