Our Sustainability Strategy
Sustainability is integrated into how Statkraft develops, delivers and operates renewable energy projects in Ireland. Our approach translates Statkraft’s global sustainability priorities into focused action that reflects the needs of our projects, communities, environment and wider energy system.
Our 2027 strategy is structured around three priority areas: Climate and Resource Use, Biodiversity, and Communities, Workers and Human Rights. Across these areas, we are strengthening how we use data, evidence and collaboration to support responsible project delivery and create measurable, long-term value.
Climate and recource use
Climate and resource use is a priority area in Statkraft's sustainability strategy. Statkraft's most important contribution to the climate is to decarbonise society through renewable energy, while reducing GHG emissions across its value chain.
Biodiversity
Biodiversity is a priority area in Statkraft's sustainability strategy. Statkraft's activities affect biodiversity through land and water use, and the strategy aims to reduce these impacts while supporting renewable energy development and addressing climate change.
Communities, workers and human rights
Communities, workers and human rights is a priority area in Statkraft's sustainability strategy. Our activities take place in local contexts and involve employees, contractors and supply chains. The strategy aims to manage impacts, respect human rights and contribute to positive outcomes where projects are developed.
