Seeing sustainability unfold in Statkraft Ireland

During my time as a trainee in Statkraft Ireland, I had a truly enriching experience. I was welcomed by the wider office staff and felt absolutely supported not only by my manager, but also by the Business Support team.

Sustainability at Statkraft has a long way to go, and I witnessed both the challenges and the incredible potential for the Irish operation. 

Throughout my six months, I observed how sustainability unfolded in the country’s projects and how dedicated the project managers were to advancing sustainability, despite the known gaps and areas for improvement.

I will always cherish the unique opportunities I had during my rotation, like my first-ever presentation at an international conference in Dublin (the IAIA Annual Conference), and discussions with potential circular economy partners that could help with our efforts towards a circular business.

While I may never forget the infamous Irish weather, I was compensated with a great team, a wonderful office environment, and the chance to work in a new country with a new culture (I will miss the Irish pubs). 

This experience has definitely helped me grow in lots of new ways and I learned more than I ever expected. Thank you to the entire team for such a memorable six months!
