Statkraft named as one of the Best Medium Sized Workplaces™ in Ireland

MD Kevin O’Donovan receives Most Trusted Leader Award

Statkraft Ireland has been ranked as Ireland’s 2nd Best Medium Sized Workplace for 2024 at the Great Place to Work awards.

At the ceremony in Dublin yesterday, Statkraft’s MD Kevin O’Donovan was also presented with the Most Trusted Leader Award, for his stewardship of the growing workforce since the company entered the Irish market in 2018.

Following the awards ceremony, Kevin O’Donovan, Managing Director of Statkraft Ireland, said: “This is our third year being recognised as a Great Place to Work, and our first year in the medium-sized category so to be ranked number 2 is fantastic.”

“Statkraft first came into Ireland just over five years ago and the growth of the company, and the whole renewables industry, has been astounding. When a company grows, it is vital to maintain a sense of camaraderie and trust, so these results mean a huge amount to us.”

“The Statkraft team works in a meaningful sector. One which will deliver clean, renewable energy to homes, business, and communities right across Ireland, and protect our planet in the process. We do this work as a team, with passion, determination, expertise and commitment. I am honoured to be recognised as a trusted leader, and I accept it on the behalf of a whole team of trusted colleagues.”

The Great Place to Work ranking is based on direct feedback from employees, provided as part of an extensive and anonymous survey about the workplace. The survey measures several factors including employee development and the pride that employees feel working for their organisations.

The pillars of credibility, respect and fairness measure employees’ trust in management and the pillars of pride and camaraderie measure employees’ feelings about their jobs and colleagues.

Some of Statkraft Ireland’s results were broken down into the following:

·       Respect (95%)


·       Pride (95%)


·       Camaraderie (95%)


·       Fairness (91%)


This is the third year that Statkraft has participated in the programme. The Great Place to Work Programme measures organisations through a combination of an Employee Survey and a Cultural Audit.
